In a resolute declaration, Senator Samuel
Anyanwu, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in
Imo State, expressed his unwavering belief that the party would emerge
victorious and occupy Douglas House in the upcoming November elections.
Anyanwu made this statement during a
reconciliatory meeting held at his campaign office in Owerri, where he engaged
with party officials to foster unity and strategize for success.
The meeting witnessed a significant turnout, with the presence of all 35 ward chairmen, 27 local government area chairmen, 27 LGA women leaders, and 3 Zone women leaders.
Senator Anyanwu took
the opportunity to criticize those party chieftains who recently defected,
highlighting PDP's determination to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC)
at the polls.
The Imo PDP raised allegations against the former executive members who had joined the ruling APC, suggesting that their motive was to evade an investigation into the alleged mismanagement of party funds.
Senator Anyanwu affirmed the freedom of those who decided to leave the
party, while assuring steadfast party members that their loyalty would be
rewarded with victory and happiness.
"Every support group will collaborate
with the party, fostering inclusivity without any segregation or
discrimination," stated Senator Anyanwu. He expressed gratitude to the
reconciliatory committee for their diligent efforts thus far and exuded
confidence in the party's triumph, firmly believing that the PDP would not lose
the election in November.
Furthermore, Senator Anyanwu unveiled plans
for a 'Thank you' tour, aiming to personally acknowledge and appreciate the
unwavering support of the party faithful. This tour would serve as a gesture of
gratitude and reinforce the strong bond between the PDP and its members.
