Yesterday,
the governors emphasized the importance of a unified Nigeria and religious
harmony as Muslims worldwide celebrated Eid-el-Kabir. They acknowledged that
this occasion represents faith and complete trust in God. Governor Sanwo-Olu
urged all Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to embrace the lessons of sacrifice
taught by Prophet Ibrahim and encouraged them to collaborate with followers of
other faiths to promote peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
Governors
including Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Seyi Makinde, Dapo Abiodun, Ademola Adeleke,
AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Yahaya Bello, Umaru Dikko-Radda, Bassey Otu, and
Abdullahi Sule called upon Muslim faithful to follow the noble examples set by
Prophets Ibrahim and Mohammad. They emphasized the significance of maintaining
a path of spirituality and peaceful coexistence, drawing inspiration from the
teachings and actions of Prophet Mohammed.
Governor
Abiodun encouraged Nigerians to embrace selflessness, sacrifice, and patriotism
in their efforts to build a strong and economically prosperous nation. He
stressed that the celebration should serve as a reminder to all Nigerians that
the new government, led by President Bola Tinubu, has implemented measures
aimed at propelling the country towards development. These measures, such as
the withdrawal of fuel subsidy, require the sacrifice and cooperation of every
citizen to ensure their success and eliminate wastefulness.
Governor
Makinde expressed gratitude for the prayers and support received from the
Muslim community and urged them to continue praying for his administration, the
state of Oyo, and the entire nation. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving
the lives of the people and delivering sustainable development as promised
during the election campaign.

Adeleke praised Muslims and assured all residents of the state of better
welfare measures. He guaranteed that his administration would prioritize the
welfare of the citizens, particularly the workers.

AbdulRazaq, who also serves as the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors' Forum
(NGF), urged Nigerians to unite with the government at all levels to preserve
communal values and promote unity. He emphasized that such collaboration would
contribute to the development of both the country and Kwara State.
